It has been too long.

I’ve put my dream on hold too long! I started baking as a way to connect my friends & family around good food-good food, makes great company. I wanted to extend my passion as far as it could reach so I could contribute to so many more celebrations & gatherings, so here it is… Round 2!

This time I have a crazy amount of support from my family & friends, a fire fueled with dreams & lots of chocolate 😉

If you’re 2017 didn’t start off so sweet, let me change that for you.

Hiatus :(

…With all the busy bustling of my F/T position & just life in general, i’ve put a hold on Baked Lotus Love. I have stayed true to all my loyal customers, taking specific orders while on hiatus. I adore all my lovely cupcake monsters & can’t wait to post what i’ve been baking up last couple months.

Proud to say over 340 cups of cake batter baked & served in the last 8 months!

Again, thank you to everyone that supports my passion, love & drive. I appreciate the opportunity to make your next event special with a custom creation from our kitchen to yours!

“I love…” CAKE!

A sweet gesture from a boyfriend to his sweetheart 🙂
As I’ve heard this young man had his friends searching southern cal for the one “I Love Lucy” episode when Lucille Ball worked at a chocolate factory-We all know it… Stuffing bon bobs everywhere since they were going too fast on the conveyor belt… Just to ask her out! It was only the perfect fit to commemorate her special day with another sweet gesture.

Details? Marbled fondant carved chocolate heart including double chocolate cake truffles with toasted hazelnuts, heart sprinkles & white/milk chocolate chips.
Yum! Happy Birthday Monique – we wish you the best 😀

About who?

I’ve received lots of inquiries on who I am, who we are & what this is. Lets clear it up!

Who I/We are?

Its a personal, heart felt & pain-staking production line of all sorts. We do events contracted through companies or private parties & provide all planning services as well as custom pastry menus. We keep our cilents as close as possible to best understand what their heart’s desire through these special celebrations & interpret it all in sugar after we’ve completed the planning.

What this site is?

This is a log of some of the pieces we’ve created that have some history value or personal meaning to one of us. We want to tell our story & share a “slice” (haha, get it slice? like slice of cake? I know were pretty cheesy -_- ) of what makes us…well, us! This is not a professional site to showcase our work, we will provide more examples if anyone is interested in working with us. As contributors to any celebration that may be important to those celebrating, it is crucial to us that we aren’t strangers! Weird isn’t it? a COMPLETE stranger roaming around your party …? Yup, we thought so too. Take a seat, look around & feel free to ask some questions, baking? parties? orders? or better yet about us!

a heart changing Wedding.

There’s always a point of reference that we’ve based all of our decisions on, it could be an experience, a person or as simple as a photo.

I had an opportunity to be a part of an intimate celebration amongst joyful family & friends of a genuine bride & groom. I personally have, what you may call, common ground with the couple themselves as I could relate my own accomplishments & struggles with their own. I’ve had my fair share of celebrations & this would be my first that I have decided to take on without any restriction from a company or agency. I met them through a friend which happen to be her bride’s maid & visa versa (she was a bride herself to be married next year, as she was her bride’s maid for this June wedding, this June bride was to be her bride’s maid the following year.)

I was a helping hand the day of their celebration at a private location in Lancaster, CA. As I was setting up their venue, I also was designing their wedding cake & other pastries to be served that night. Take a peek?

This wedding.. was exactly what I had hoped it would be for not only the bride & groom but myself as well. For those that obviously don’t personally know me, I set out a goal earlier this year… To find what I loved about baking & events. I found it again that night, so Thank you for allowing me to contribute to your beautiful celebration.

Why, hello stranger!

So it’s been a while right? Been craving some updates? Oh, I’m sure!

Lady Gaga x HK (Collabo!)
Obessed? She was too! Not only was this inspired by the HK gallery in Santa monica fall of 10′ but if you aren’t in the ‘Gaga-know’ she calls all her fans “little monsters.” This had an awesome birthday given her bday was a all out decorated halloween party with everyone in decked out costumes & this cake! I’d have to say this is top 5 of my fav’s 🙂

… her litlle sister had one more suprise! What’s a birthday without her own cake? Psssh… Hello Kitty @that!

This past year has been nothing but positive growth through some looooong nights & pounds n’ pounds of.. . CAKE!
🙂 I’ve enjoyed every moment. Thank you to those that have made that possible… Without your celebrations, I wouldn’t have anything to bake for!

Since September.

.. I’ve been running around events, work & life! So I apologize for the lack of updates :[

I have TONS to share & can’t wait to post. I have some new favorites ’cause now a days people have so much CREATIVITY – I can cake it ! Lady gaga kitty!? Tiffany boxes, crazy cupcakes & more Hello Kitty? oh, YES.

Again, I appreciate the love & support that everyone has made towards my passion. Whether you mentioned my name, shown pictures, tagg’d, tweet’d, tumblr, called, txt’d me. ANYTHING! I want to Thank you for helping keep what I love alive (& gettin paid for it? Suh-wheeeeat! What could be better?)

Want a Sneak peek.. .? Alright, you convinced me!

I’ve received a bunch of inquires + Q&A as I haven’t been updating. I’ll be honest, society is pretty rough…

From A.T*****@sbcglobal.net:

“… do you make everything yourself or is it all store bought & your pricing it however you feel like?? “

My response as it will always stay the same.. I can’t stand by or stick my name on anything that I can’t vouch for. I’m not just a cake decorater, that isn’t what I’m passionate about. I take great offense to inquiries posed this way because at the end of the day, I mix in every ingredient in, tweek to flavor it accordingly & sit around as it bakes… then make some sugar magic ! It takes a great deal of time for everything to be awesome. I eat it, i’m still alive LOL

As an example, my uber favorite. My version of Nutella Buttercream! Come to think of it, I probably keep Nutella in business aside from the millions of moms. Want some?

Hello… kitty? No, Happy Birthday Marybel

is it February, ’cause Love is in the air! Amongst all the other LONG list of things I adore.. . surprises are at the top of that list. I’m horrible at them but I sure do love giving em’ a try!

A fiance approached me with a surprise party idea for his to-be bride! She loves.. all things girly, hello kitty… eighty’s & zebra?! Now, thats my kinda girl LOL! I usually have all my guys brainstorm what their girls absolutely LOVE, it gets the creative process going on the path of love at first sight-with her cake that is!

Details? Strawberry dream cake with chocolate accents & matching cupcakes! Hello Kitty topside, zebra & polka dots line the sides of the cake with a pink sparkle fondant bow to finish it off.

Yep, back to the IPhone snapshots but Marybel & Joe? I wish you guys all the best!  Oh & I hope the “low-key” Woodstock addition sufficed your request Joe! Too cute guys!

Our Oh So Sweet Ladybug.. Princess Hailey!

Now what is a celebration without family.. . Especially a filipino family! If you’ve never experienced a filipino gathering, well then your missing out on homecooked amazingness by the masses, funny drunk uncles & karaoke ( these are the bullet points, trust me your missing out- make a filipino friend? You’ll soon become family! )

As a child, these parties are what us “kids” dread-LONG hours of hanging out with cousins & cheek pinching fun from relatives. Now that we’ve grown up… I miss getting my cheeks pinched till I looked as if I was wearing blush back in the 80’s. Yup, I miss it. Now we get to welcome a new lil’ bugger into this family, Hailey!

Shes a curious one! My neice just turned one, her very 1st birthday! I feel awesome to be able to help celebrate such a milestone, I mean your 1st birthday is like.. EPIC.

Oh & P.S. thats me & my #1 support (Hes killer, I couldn’t do any of this without him) standing by proud mama Kayla & her beautiful babygirl. Thanks again Kay for giving me the opportunity to help celebrate with you & Hailey!

“Bye Bye Belly… Hello Jaelia!”

You know what I adore the most of all this “caking?”

The girly stuff! Especially babyshower stuff.. the colors & cutesy tootsey stuff really holds an “awwwww… ”  factor with the added dorky jawdropping expression (If you guys know me, well you know that one!) I was lucky this mom wasn’t big on Pink! Pink! Pink! ’cause well, Pink? sometimes is too much “girly” for me.

Yup! thats a little foot imprint on the right of the belly & a belly button! xD In this case, Mom says she kicks like shes scoring goals in her tummy; Jaelia probably gets it from mom’s athletic side… So I had to add a little personal touch to her cake, I mean it is all about Jaelia right?

Let’s all wish Mom & Jaelia a wonderful welcoming in these next couple weeks!
